CBSE Worksheet 01
Ch-12 Ratio and Proportion

Answer

    1. Kirti = Rs 20, Kamal = Rs 40
      Explanation: ratio = 1 : 2
      ∴ the total parts is 1+2=3

      so kriti's share = 13×60=603=60÷33÷3=201=20Rs

      kamal's share = 23×60=1203=120÷33÷3=401=40Rs

    1. a:b = b:c
      Explanation: Three terms(a ,b and c) are said to be in proportion if the ratio of the first and the second is equal to the ratio of the second and third.
      a:b=b:c
    1. it is 1:2
      Explanation:
      Re 1 ⇒ 100 paisa
      ratio = 50 paisa : Re 1

      = 50:100 = 50100=50÷50100÷50=12=1:2

    1. it is 2:3
      Explanation: 30:45

      3045=30÷1545÷15=23=2:3

    1. (c) Rs 16000
      Explanation: sol : given ratio of ravi and rani 2:3 , total part is 2+3=5
      and given profit is 40000

      ravi share in profit=25×40000=800005=Rs16000

    1.  r
    2.  p
    3.  q
    4.  s
    1. 12
    2. 6secs : 12sec
    3. 30 : 24
    4. 2 : 1
    1. True
    2. False
    3. True
    4. False
  1. X:6 = 25:5
    X6=255
    X6=51 (Dividing 255 by 5)
    X=5×6=30
    X=30

  2. It is given that
    Weight of 25 copies = 5 kg
    ∴ Weight of 1 copy = 5 ÷25 = 1/5 kg
    ∴ Weight of 30 copies = 30 × 1/5= 6 kg

  3. 45km : 60km = 4560=45÷1560÷15[H.C.F.(45, 60) = 15]
    =34 = 3 : 4
    12 hours : 15 hours =1215=12÷315÷3[H.C.F.(12, 15) = 3]
    =45 = 4 : 5
    Since, the two ratios are not equal, therefore the given statement is false(F).

  4. 24 : 27 =2427=24÷327÷3[H.C.F.(24, 27) = 3]
    =89 = 8 : 9
     8 : 9 = 24 : 27
     8 : 9 : : 24 : 27 is true(T).

  5. 7.5 litre : 15 litre
    =7.515=7.5×1015×10=75150=75÷75150÷75[H.C.F.(75, 150) = 75]
    =12 = 1 : 2
    5kg : 10kg =510=5÷510÷5[H.C.F.(5, 10) = 5]
    =12 = 1 : 2
    Since, the two ratios are equal, therefore, the given statement is true (T).

  6. 5.2 : 3.9 =5.23.9=5.2×103.9×10=5239=52÷1339÷13[H.C.F.(52, 39) = 13]
    =43 = 4 : 3
     4 : 3  3 : 4
     5.2 : 3.9 : : 3 : 4 is false (F).

  7. Let 2A = 3B = 4C = x
    So, A=x2,B=x3,C=x4
    The L.C.M of 2, 3 and 4 is 12
    Therefore, A:B:C =x2×12:x3×12:x4×12=6x:4x:3x=6:4:3
    Therefore A:B:C = 6:4:3.
