  6. Weaving involve two sets of yarn. It is done manually by handlooms or power loom using machine. The two types of threads run in different directions, with the warp threads running lengthwise and the weft threads running crosswise or horizontally.
    In knitting single yarn is used. It is done by needles and also by machines. It consists of stitches (or loops) of the material consecutively run together.
  7. The stems of jute plant are bundled and then put in the stagnant water of a pond or even in river for about 15 days. During these days the stem rots and only the fibre remains. This process is called retting.
