  1. When the existing human resources get further developed when more education is provided to them and they become healthier, then human capital formation takes place. it adds value to the national income of the country.
  2. Investing in people skills & abilities and medical care is called Human Capital Investment.
  3. Japan has invested in human resources mostly in the field of education and health.
  4. Japan has become developed country due to the well-entrenched commercial sector, investment in technology and high level of research and investment in education and health, availability of large-scale industry.
    1. This type of employment is caused due to a mismatch in the size of the population and the structure of the economy.
    2. An underdeveloped infrastructure cannot provide employment to such a large population.
    1. When more than required numbers of people are engaged in productive activities, it is called underemployment.
    2. In this case, work done by a person is hidden and even if the person is removed from employment, the production will remain the same.
    3. For example, when the work requires the service of five people but engages eight people, the three extra people are disguisedly employed.
    4. Hence, underemployment is also known as disguised unemployment.
    1. This type of unemployment exists when people cannot find gainful work during some part of the year.
    2. For e.g., in agriculture sector, some farmers are bound to be unemployed for some part of the year due to the seasonal character of the occupation itself
    1. This type of unemployment is common in urban areas.
    2. There is unemployment among educated and technically skilled workers because they do not compromise on, low wages while in search of gainful employment.
    3. A person is termed as ‘unemployed’ when they are capable and willing to do gainful work at prevailing wages but still, they cannot get work.

    2. Poverty: As a result of overpopulation, the available resources would not be able to go round and this will result in poverty in the country.
    3. Unemployment: Overpopulation leads to unemployment, this is as a result of the number of people looking for job outruns available resources.
    4. Social Problems: Overpopulation brings about social problems such as bribery, prostitution, armed robbery etc.
