- The cricket realized a change in his circumstances when he saw that his cupboards were empty and the winter had come.
- The cricket’s song is heard in winter. When it is very cold and quiet, the winter silence is broken by a shrill sound. This is cricket’s song.
- The theme of the poem ‘On the Grasshopper and the Cricket' is that nature is always happy. Nature is never sad. It is always singing. Its poetry is sometimes heard through birds and sometimes through other creatures. The Grasshopper sings in summer and the cricket sings in winter.
