    1. When a ray of light falls on a plane smooth surface, it reflects in the same medium in such a way that the angle of reflection is equal to the angle of incidence.
    2. The incident ray, the reflected ray and the normal all lie in the same plane.
    1. The light ray which is incidence (falls) on to a surface is called the incident ray.
    2. The light ray which is reflected (reflects) from a surface is called the reflected ray.
    3. A perpendicular line drawn at the reference point to the surface is called a normal.
    4. The angle made by the reflected ray with the normal at the point of Reflection is called angle of reflection.
    5. The angle made by the incident ray with the normal at the point of incidence is called angle of incidence.
  8. The first image shows regular reflection while second image shows irregular reflection.
